No Blogging Ideas—For Now

For a moment there, I thought I’d lost my love for blogging. It was a very sad thought because the blogosphere is one of my favorite places on the internet, and there’s this rush I get every time I’m rambling on a topic that excites me or when I post it. Was my time on wordpress really ending?

But then I looked at my blog’s draft section, and—I have a TON of blog posts left to share. Almost thirty of them, I think. All spanning from 2021 till today (I literally just finished drafting and setting aside another post). But these are either thoughts about the experience of being on submissions to editors, or other posts that will be ‘safer’ to share once I’ve gotten that long-awaited book deal.

For instance, there is my How I Got My Agent post, complete with the stats, agent feedbacks, my strategies, and more. I’m literally twitching to share this particular post! But I don’t want to until I get a book deal. Because it definitely sucks to excitedly share a HIGMA, only (for some reason or the other) to lose the partnership and go back to querying. I’ve been there, didn’t love it. So I plan to post this one when I feel a lil more secure in the whole process. I also have posts that dissect into how I decided which agent to sign with, my reasons for saying no to others, and lots of submissions thoughts/feelings that I would’ve loved to see of other authors, and so want to share.

Every now and then, I get these exciting ideas and pour them out in my drafts, but then it’s always a subject I can’t share yet. So I realized it’s not that I’ve lost the love of blogging. It’s more that I’ve run out of stuff to say about this current stage that I’ve been in for a while. I thought about sharing more personal posts, but my personal life hasn’t been any more interesting than my publishing one and it also doesn’t bring any excitement to blog.

Again, I’m praying that good news comes soon so that I can finally send out these posts gathering dust in my drafts hehe. And maybe I’ll also have fresher inspiration for months to come. Until then, I’ll post whenever inspiration pops up and keep reading all your posts!

(Shortly after drafting this, I started to have an influx of ideas—as you might have noticed with all the posting I’ve done before this one and with the other posts to come. I don’t know what it is about declaring I’ve run out of ideas that seems to bring more up. However, I still went on ahead to post this because if my inspiration tap dries up soon again, I just feel better explaining officially why I don’t have new posts up!)
